AIHce 2008 Brings CareerAdvantage to Minneapolis

FAIRFAX, VA -- The American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) will hold its 2008 CareerAdvantage Job Fair at the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition (AIHce) in Minneapolis, June 2-4.

Sponsored by the AIHA Career and Employment Services Committee, the CareerAdvantage Job Fair will facilitate connections between employers and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) professionals. In addition, it will provide valuable opportunities for companies to maximize their exposure when searching for employees.

Employers and recruiters can fill critical positions and expand their personnel options through the job fair. Those who are searching for qualified professionals can:

·  Access an exclusive audience of OEHS professionals by posting job openings online;

·  Post their job listing on the main CareerAdvantage website until June 30, 2008;

·  Access the searchable résumé database to find candidates attending the job fair;

·  Set up on-site interviews with selected candidates online;

·  Network with OEHS professionals.

Companies who take advantage of sponsorship opportunities at the job fair have the added benefit of even more exposure. In addition to the employer and recruiter benefits listed above, job fair sponsors can:

·  Be highlighted as a featured employer on the CareerAdvantage job board and have online job postings listed as featured jobs;

·  Have their company logo and/or name highlighted and prominently displayed on their own computer terminal;

·  Have their trademark displayed on their computer screen splash.

For job seekers, the job fair offers career counseling, free résumé postings, on-site interviewing, accessibility to job postings, and networking. Job seekers can also win a free résumé critique by certified career management coach Joan Runnheim Olson.

In addition, AIHA will host the following seminars and self-help workshops for AIHce attendees:

·  Résumés that Work: How to Create a Résumé that Gets Results,” June 3, 9:30–11 a.m. Attendees will learn tips on crafting a résumé that will catch an employer’s eye.

·  “Take Charge of Your Career,” June 3, 12:30–2 p.m. This presentation is designed to inspire attendees toward successful career management.

·  “How to Land Your First Job After College,” June 4, 9:30–11 a.m. Attendees will get a glimpse at today’s job market and discover why the old job search methods generally are not enough.

Marshall Brown & Associates presents Joan Runnheim Olson, MS, who will present the seminars at AIHce. Olson is a certified Five O’Clock Club career coach, a certified leadership and talent management coach, and is a founder of Pathways Career Success Strategies (www.pathwayscareer.com).
