SanAir Achieves ‘Coveted’ AIHA Accreditation

RICHMOND, VA -- SanAir Technologies Laboratory has announced a major expansion of its national industrial hygiene testing program through its recent accreditation for lead testing by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

“Following several months of review by outside experts and extensive onsite visitations, our newest accreditation will enable us to expand our expertise in environmental testing considerably,” said SanAir President Sean McGlynn. “Since our founding in 2003, we have attained national recognition for our work in identifying and isolating fungi and other potentially dangerous pathogens in public venues such as shopping malls, hospitals and schools.

“Now with AIHA’s coveted Laboratory Accreditation Program in lead, we will be able to expand into additional venues, especially among industrial concerns.”

The AIHA is an association for occupational and environmental health and safety professionals. Its 10,460 members play a crucial role on the front line of worker health and safety. Members represent a cross-section of industry, private business, labor, government and academia.

Also, SanAir recently announced an expansion of its facilities at Oakbridge to accommodate business growth. Since its founding, the company has grown to be a full-service national laboratory offering analytical and consulting services specialized in asbestos, bacterial detection and identification, environmental microbiology, Legionella, and materials testing.

SanAir is based in Oakbridge Industrial Park in Powhatan County, Virginia near the new Watkins Center development, a major component in Richmond’s rapid multi-use business growth.
